WELCOME TO SPECIAL KIDS PLACE
SPECIAL KIDS PLACE is a non-profit organization that was created to inform and educate parents and caregivers of special needs children. One of these special needs children is our grandson, Colin, who suffers from cerebral palsy and has multiple physical and developmental disabilities as a result of traumatic brain injury at birth. Having observed Colin’s challenging journey, our vision is to develop a website that will provide blogs and easy links to a wide range of subjects, information and resources for special needs kids and the people who care for them.
Colin, now 6 years old, lives at home with his mother, father, and 11 year old sister in Encino, a suburb of Los Angeles, California.
Though we have concentrated on Southern California-based resources, we are hoping to expand our geographical coverage through input from users who live elsewhere in California, as well in other parts of the United States — and the world!
